Description
Revs. Todd Bartlett and Jack Shitama helped our community move from concern to practical preparation. Building on the previous conversation about welcoming Hispanic and Latinx communities, this session focused on what it looks like to be ready when hard situations or emotionally charged conversations arise. Using Bear Creek Camp’s ICE Encounter Procedures as a real world example, Jack and Todd named the reality that preparation itself can draw pushback, and offered tools rooted in compassionate communication and non violent communication to help leaders regulate their own emotions, lower anxiety in a group, and respond instead of react. If you are thinking about policies, staff training, board conversations, or how to faithfully navigate polarized viewpoints, this recording offers grounded, practical guidance.
