2019 UMCRM Conference Staff Summit

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
At beautiful Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, we will welcome United Methodist Conference Staff who relate to Camp & Retreat Ministries to discover that “new creation” that Paul speaks of in 2nd Corinthians. The 2019 Summit will provide time for exploration of “walking in newness of life” (Romans 6:4) with colleagues from across the country. We will pray and worship together, and we will learn and share together, in community, the new to come. Join us as we gather in faith and confidence as leaders in Camp and Retreat Ministries who share the vision of strength and endurance.
This year our annual summit will dovetail with the ecumenical Great Gathering, "RelationShift." We encourage all to plan to attend both parts of the week and to book travel and lodging accordingly. We will assist in shuttling folks back to AVL (Asheville airport) or GSP (Greenville-Spartanburg) on Saturday as needed.
If you are planning to attend the Great Gathering, registration is in 3 parts:
1) Register for the Great Gathering If you'd like to stay in the same lodging all week, choose a room in Lambuth Inn (renovated or unrenovated).
2) Register for the UMCRM Summit (just a $68 program fee; Lake Junaluska will handle your lodging and meals directly). Click the Register button at the bottom of the blue box on the left.
3) Call Lake Junaluska (828-452-2881) to arrange to add the extra UMCRM Summit days and meals to your reservation. Mention UMCRM Summit Group Reservation #31024. We have a block of rooms reserved in Lambuth Inn with a couple of options:
Single $109/night, Unrenovated single $79/night
Shared $54.50/person/night, Unrenovated shared $39.50/person/night
The cost for our 5 meals (Thursday lunch thru Sat. breakfast, except our Friday dinner out) will be $62 plus tax & gratuity.
Please plan to arrive by 11 am Thursday morning (if you're not already onsite at the Great Gathering) and schedule airport departures from AVL or GSP Saturday afternoon after 1 pm.
Or...a special offer from Russell Davis and the North Georgia team: Knowing that it's always an extra challenge for the western folks to fly east, we want to help smooth your way to this event. Would it help with your travel logistics to fly into Atlanta on Saturday (rather than Asheville or Greenville on Sunday)? If so, the North Georgia folks would like to pick you up (arrivals to ATL between 5-8 pm on Saturday, 11/9), host you overnight, and drive up to Junaluska with you on Sunday (about a 3-hour drive). They'll get you back to ATL on Saturday afternoon for a later flight (departures after 4:30 pm). They're willing to extend this service for $50, not including meals.
