An Introduction to Coaching for Camp & Retreat Leaders
As experienced camp and retreat leaders, we are constantly called on to help people move past who they are today so they can become who they want to be tomorrow. Coach training is an excellent complement to the skills you have already developed as an outdoor ministry professional. Join us and gain focused skills and experience in order to coach professionally.
Your training will involve pre-reading and face-to-face active learning during the event. It will be a custom-designed, two-day training just for camp and retreat leaders, developed by Coach Approach Skill Training. You will gain skills for helping individuals with self-discovery, expanding possibilities, identifying actions, and calculating appropriate risk taking and self-accountability. This event will cover Basic coaching skills (as well as some advanced skills,) a level of training that can cost $1,600, but is offered here at an incredibly reduced rate thanks to our sponsor, the Office of Christian Formation of the Presbyterian Mission Agency. Additional training will be needed to achieve coaching certification.
Cost: The total inclusive cost for this event (training, meals, snacks, and lodging with linens) is just $400.00. A round-trip airport shuttle from the Pittsburgh International Airport is available for an additional $60.
Transportation
For the Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), an airport shuttle will be offered by Jumonville for $60 roundtrip. We ask that you arrive by 3:30pm on Sunday, April 16 and depart after 10:30am on Wednesday, April 19. For those who are driving, the program will begin at 6:00pm. Jumonville is located at 887 Jumonville Road, Hopwood, PA 15445.

Cancellation policy: Contact Registrar Jen Burch to amend or cancel your registration. Up to 30 days prior to the class, the program fee will be refunded minus a $50 admin fee. In the event that we cancel the class, a full refund will be given.
